Well, so much for waiting on a relaxing evening. Not more than a few hours after I posted about being scared to quilt this, I was getting antsy to start the free motion quilting.
Then I couldn't stop, and finished the quilting over the span of several hours. As a beginner, I found the tutorial on Oh Fransson a wonderful resource for getting the hang of moving the quilt and finding my rhythm. Still made a ton of mistakes but nothing that a hot wash to pucker the quilt won't fix. I can't wait to tackle something with my own fabric choices. When I post the final pictures I'll tell you all about the fight that the orange plush fabric gave me throughout the project.
